Giving and Gratitude: Prioritizing Others This Season

Giving back and expressing gratitude are so important today. When you prioritize helping others, your business will reap the benefits.

Giving and gratitude are important things to practice in business. This time of year, we’re all reminded of the importance of giving. And of being grateful for the things that we have. In the storage industry, there are many ways we can give back to community. Working for a company that makes an impact within the community is important. Luckily, community connection comes in many shapes and sizes — and so does good heartedness. Every company, whether it’s small, medium, or large, has ample opportunities to anchor to its local community and help those in need.

The key to an amazing company isn’t simply an amazing product; it comes from within. To know a business, look at its company culture and its people. Who are they? What do they stand for? How do they walk the walk? When a company’s shared values of compassion become the essence of its work culture, it’s a beautiful thing. Imagine a company that encourages volunteerism and a healthy, balanced work environment. You’ll see employees who have a mutual respect for each other, the work they do, and the community that surrounds them.

The benefits of giving back to the community are far reaching. Firstly, you will create a stronger, more productive team. Secondly, you will connect with your local community. Thirdly, you will improve your bottom line. Companies are recognizing this trend and putting more value into their community commitment. Storage facilities are giving back to community more than ever this year. Willingness to roll up your sleeves to help others is a great quality. Organizations who value community involvement are more likely to hire people with drive and compassion.

So how do you build a company culture of giving? When a company works to makes a difference from the inside out, the benefits go beyond the bottom line. One of the ways that Boxwell strengthens bonds within our community is by volunteering our time as a team. We work together to help community organizations in need.

It’s so important for companies to take a close look at who they are and who they want to be. Write it down, share it, work to achieve it. We at Boxwell spent time considering the company we want to be. Our mission is to build the future of storage, today. And here’s how we to do it:

We Work Hard

Our team uses a hands-on approach to business. We are a group of problem solvers, always ready to roll up our sleeves, jump in, and figure things out. We stand by our product, no matter what. From the first phone call to the finished install and onto the next order, every step and detail along the way matters to us.

We Innovate

When intrigued with something new, we give it a try. We explore technologies, materials, size options, features, and manufacturing locations. Anticipating what’s ahead is key to prepare for possible shifts. So, we ask, “What could be better?” And we make thoughtful, bold updates to our storage solutions.

We Give Back

Community connection is important to us. It’s our company culture to support organizations who have big hearts and small pockets. We volunteer as a team and share our resources with non-profits, schools, sports programs, farms, and museums. We believe compassion and generosity are essential to the success of our business.

  • Offer a storage unit to a local organization in need
  • Support local schools and aging facilities
  • Make a donation every time someone signs a lease at your facility
  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities as a team
  • Give monetary donations every year to nonprofits
  • Work at local soup kitchens during the holidays
  • Make giving part of your company culture
  • Offer discounts to local nonprofits
  • Match employee donations
  • Sponsor local sports teams

As a manufacturer of storage units, Boxwell is serious about community connection. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Boxwell is surrounded by amazing nonprofit organizations. Each of us works hard for the success of our company, but the key is knowing that our positive energy can grow outside of the office.

We love sharing that energy when we volunteer with There With Care. This local, non-profit organization works to provide support for families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. Boxwell also donates storage units to the Museum of Boulder, Without Limits, Linfield Athletics and Mission Africa, to name a few. And did you know that we have our own cycling team? We sponsor and coach little league baseball teams and local sporting events.

It’s also important for us to support our neighborhood restaurants and businesses. Boxwell has commissioned local artist, Katherine Homes for paintings in our office. And we regularly donate to our local non-profits, such as Community Food Share, Emergency Family Assistance Association, There With Care, Drylands Agroecology Research, Luvin’ Arms Animal Sanctuary, and Growing Gardens, and Pride Pads.

At the core, Boxwell uses a hands-on approach to business that is carried throughout everything we do. When we need to talk, we pick up the phone. If there are questions, we demo our product. When intrigued with something new, we give it a try. If a team member needs help, we offer it. When our community needs support, we lend our resources. With compassion and innovative ways of “thinking outside of the box,” anything is possible. That’s our culture.
