We recently donated three portable storage containers to Niwot High School’s sports program. With rising enrollment and increased participation in athletics, Niwot needed extra storage space for its growing collection of equipment. So, our containers will provide an effective solution!
We also donated a 16-foot portable storage unit to Growing Gardens for their goat dairy’s hay storage. This local nonprofit supports Boulder County residents through agriculture education and food programs. During our visit, we learned how goats contribute to sustainable farming by grazing on cover crops and weeds—enhancing soil health and farm ecology. Plus, they are curious, friendly creatures! We also learned that Growing Gardens leases its land from Long’s Iris Gardens, creating a unique partnership that blends education with heritage preservation. By supporting Growing Gardens, we are helping to contribute to the sustainability of this historic property. We are able to strengthen our core values while working with local non profits. This is an great example of how local organizations work together to benefit the broader community.
While visiting Growing Gardens, we had the opportunity to meet Catherine Long Gates, the third-generation owner of Long’s Iris Gardens in Boulder, which has been family-owned since 1905. Catherine’s deep-rooted passion for preserving her family’s legacy and promoting local agriculture aligns perfectly with Boxwell’s commitment to community support. Her dedication to maintaining the garden’s heritage has made Long’s Iris Garden a beloved fixture in Boulder for generations. Supporting local agriculture like this is part of our commitment to strengthening community ties.
